Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Saleem Raza has tendered his resignation which was accepted by the President Asif Ali Zardari. Deputy Governor Yaseen Anwar has been made acting Governor of State Bank.
Saleem Raza had assumed the charge of office in January, 2009 and ever since, he had been performing his duties.Amid talks with IMF and prior to new budget, resignation of Governor State Bank will add into the troubles of the government.
According to sources, the governor has decided to quit at a time when country is passing through critical economic situation. The resignation of the governor signifies to enhance financial problems of the government.
