MQM has eventually made a decision to join Sindh government. Sources privy to the issues confirmed MQM has green-signaled a power-sharing coalition along with PPP in Sindh. They more added that MQM will be offered 5 ministries to start with.
Earlier, PPP’s Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, directed his party command to start the ‘final phase’ of reconciliatory discussions with the MQM. The ex- president of Pakistan issued directives to this effect at a high-level party gathering he chaired at Bilawal House.
“PPP was trying its best to bring these fence-mending parleys to a ‘mutually beneficial conclusion’ in the light of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s reconciliatory policy, which must endure”, said Zardari during the meeting. He also tasked CM Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, with the formation of a panel to push the discussions ahead.
