In an important political progress in the current situation, PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari telephoned PTI leader Imran Khan on Tuesday. Sources in PPP believe that Asif Ali Zardari’s initiative to call Imran Khan is part of his efforts to work like a bridge between the PTI and PML-N govt to help fix their issues.
In another significant political progress, Asif Ali Zardari also reached out to Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq from London and exchanged views on the present political scenario in Pakistan. Asif Ali Zardari’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that in telephonic talk along with Imran Khan the former president said that the PPP agreed with the dispute of a recount in the questioned constituencies under the law, and opposed the calling in of military in Islamabad under Article 245 of the constitution.
However, he noted it was also important that no chance was given to anybody to destroy the democratic system in the country behind the façade of political instability.
