PML-N on yesterday announced support for Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl contenders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the August 22 by-elections for national and provincial assembly seats. PML-N provincial general secretary Rehmat Salam Khattak told a media conference here along with JUI-F leader Akram Khan Durrani that his party would support contenders of all ‘patriotic’ parties in the province.
“The days of the (PTI-led) provincial government are numbered and it will go shortly for being unable to serve the people. We have given some time to it to deliver,” he said.
Rehmat Salam Khattak said the ruling PTI lacked experience to handle the affairs of the province and would therefore fail. He said PTI chairman Imran Khan talked a lot about holding peace talks along with Taliban but had yet to take any tangible step for the purpose.
“After elections, we were in a position to turn the PTI majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into minority but didn’t do so and honoured the mandate of PTI,” he said.
