Ex- president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has rejected reports of his alleged permission of drone strikes in the country. “As far as the drone strikes are worried, there existed no deal with the US/ISAF by the previous govt,” mentioned a media release issued on Wednesday.
“I didn’t endorse any drone strikes. During my presidency, there were just a couple of drone attacks and whenever that occurred, Pakistan filed a powerful demonstration with the US/Isaf armed forces,” Musharraf says, adding that the deal with Isaf was that they would run in Afghanistan and Pakistan’s army will run in Pakistan.
Pervez Musharraf added: “Isaf used to share the intel whenever they had any. Additionally, we asked transfer of drone technology so that our military can run them against the militants.”
