Ex- president Pervez Musharraf has made a decision to appear before court and face treason case after discussion with colleagues and defense lawyers. As per reports, Musharraf will meet his legal representatives at the hospital today (Monday).
Sources also said that Musharraf and his legal representatives have prepared a plea to be submitted after appearance before the court. It is pertinent to point out here that special bench hearing Musharraf’s treason case had ordered the ex- president to appear before court on February 18 with a notice that failure to appear before the court will result in issuance of non-bailable arrest-warrants.
The court also said that the extension until February 18 was given upon assurance from Musharaf’s lawyer Anwar Mansoor. Earlier, the court had ordered Musharraf to appear before court on February 7 in its judgment issued on January 31. The court had also summoned Musharraf’s bail guarantor General (r) Rashid Qureshi to appear on February 18.
