Seasoned politician Javed Hashmi has been made president of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf. This was declared by PTI chief Imran Khan at a media conference here on Monday. He said the decision had been taken by the party’s CEO.
On the moment, Pakistan Democratic Party of late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan declared its decision to combine into the PTI. PDP chief Nawabzada Mansoor Ali Khan and other politicians were present at the media conference.
The statement about Mr Hashmi’s elevation to the post of PTI president was made amid speculation that Shah Mehmood Qureshi wasn’t being comfortable in the party. Mr Khan mentioned his view on a number of national problems. He backed the traders’ strike in Karachi in protest against extortion and said that citizens raising their voice against extortion in Karachi should be backed. He accused the PPP and PML-N striking an arrangement for fear of the PTI and said it was seen during Senate polls.
Imran Khan lashed out at Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said the JUI-F leader had a history of siding with every govt and enjoying benefits and privileges of being in the govt. He said JUI-F chief was a ally of the status quo in order to avert accountability. He told a questioner he’d leave national politics, if anybody proved that he had taken even a single penny for his politics. Imran said the people must be informed about persons who were doing politics with taxpayers’ money.
