Interior Minister’s statement on Bilawal plot irks PM Gilani

Anyone who is privy to PM Yousuf Raza Gilani, has no questions that he doesn’t like Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik mostly because of his weak point for antics. But of late the PM has started talking his mind about Abdul Rehman Malik with regularity.

While discussing a dinner with several parliamentarians recently, PM Gilani mentioned his severe concerns over Interior Minister`s most recent statement about exposing a plan to kidnap PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto in Karachi. Abdul Rehman Malik mentioned that Al Qaeda and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan had hatched a conspiracy to kidnap Bilawal Zardari. The interior minister says the news was received 2 weeks ago. He says the TTP and Al Qaeda had plans on VIPs, but the govt was taking measures to pre-empt their threatening plans.“I definitely can’t understand what prompted Interior Minister to pass this type of claim to the press on a really private matter. His only dilemma is that he always desires to be in head lines,” PM Gilani was mentioned as saying by one of his aides.

The PM further says Interior Minister had been suggested to be aware while speaking with press, but he didn`t listen to any person. However, the aide says, PM Gilani was perturbed over his statements about Bilawal`s kidnapping. The PM also suggested that he would take up the matter with President Zardari.
