Imran Khan demands action against election riggers

PTI chief, Imran Khan, called for action against those responsible for rigging May 11 general polls and by-elections across the country, saying that the judiciary couldn’t play it efficient in this regard.

“If election tribunals brings into light rigging in only four constituencies of Punjab, the people will forget 1977 general elections,” said Imran Khan outside the supreme court where Chief Justice-led three-member bench heard applications relating to thumb impression evidence in 4 Punjab assembly constituencies.

PTI has said in its application that rigging was carried out in those constituencies in general polls held on May 11, 2013. PTI is seeking verification of voters’ thumb impression. Imran Khan said ECP played a ‘shameful’ part in general polls.
