Chief of PML-Z Ijaz-ul-Haq decided on yesterday that he was joining PML-N. Ijaz-ul-Haq, son of former army chief Zia-ul-Haq, said that he’d officially announce his decision in a couple of days after meeting with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
Ijaz-ul-Haq said that he took this decision because he wanted coalition of the Muslim League. Adding that, he explained that he was always part of the Muslim League and will always be. Ijaz-ul-Haq remained federal minister for Labour, Manpower and overseas Pakistanis from 1997- 1999 in Nawaz Sharif’s govt.He stepped down from the post following issues with Nawaz Sharif, who was overthrown shortly afterwards by General Pervez Musharraf in 1999.
Creating his own PML splinter faction, Zia-ul-Haq, Ijaz was chosen to by the National Assembly for a record 4th time in the 2002 general election.
