Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi on yesterday chaired a high-level gathering during which Dr Samar Mubarik Mund gave a briefing about the excavation work on the Balochistan Reko Diq Copper Project here.
The seminar was informed that in 1993, Pakistan inked a mining contract of Reko Diq with the Aussie Tethyan Copper Company that now stands null and void after the provincial govt won the case in Worldwide and top court of the country.
Provincial govt would execute the copper project on its personal as it receives clean chit from the Supreme Court. As 1st stage, excavation work would be completed on 1st reserves that contain 2.2 billion of tons of copper and gold value 104 billion dollars, he noted.
Under the project, 15 thousands of copper and gold reserves in raw form would be extracted yearly allowing provincial govt to get 321 million dollar per year.
