FIA on today filed a challan before an anti-terrorism court of Rawalpindi in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, declaring ex- president Pervez Musharraf main accused in the case. As per the challan, Pervez Musharraf has been declared an accused in the light of the statement given by American journalist Mark Siegel and has alleged that Pervez Musharraf was involved in Benazir Bhutto’s murder conspiracy.
FIA’s Prosecuter Chaudhry Azhar couldn’t appear in the court because of security issues. As per a report submitted by the CPO, security could be provided to the prosecutor from the airport to the court but it wasn’t possible to ensure 24-hour safety for him. The court ordered to make sure FIA prosecutor’s presence in the next hearing while the ATC granted one-day exemption to Pervez Musharraf from appearing in the court because of security problems today.
Later, the ATC adjourned the hearing of the case till July 2.
