The federal Govt on Saturday has submitted an appeal against Sindh High Court’s order of removing the name of ex- president Pervez Musharraf from the ECL. The appeal was submitted at the Supreme Court of Pakistan by deputy attorney general on behalf of the federal Govt.
The federal Govt has prayed before the court that Pervez Musharraf shouldn’t be allowed to travel abroad until disposal of cases against the ex- army chief. It has also prayed that SHC’s order in this regard should be announced null and void. It is pertinent to mention that SHC on Thursday ordered removal of Pervez Musharraf’s name from government’s no fly list.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Shahnawaz Tariq and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar in its short verdict had said the federal Govt can submit an appeal against the verdict within 15 days; therefore, the verdict will be effective after 15 days.
