Fasih Bokhari’s appointment challenged in Supreme Court

PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday registered a application in the Supreme Court against the appointment of Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari as chairman of the NAB. Chaudhry Nisar in his application told the Supreme Court to stop Faish Bokhari from going to his office.

Chaudhry Nisar says President Zardari had hired Fasih Bokhari  without completing the discussion process. He’d earlier says in a media conference that Fasih Bokhari ’s appointment was a negation of 4 Supreme Court decisions and claimed that President Zardari didn’t want to see an unbiased and independent accountability institution in Pakistan.

PML-N had also turned down Faish Bokhari’s appointment on technical reasons and told the govt to propose a panel of possible contenders for the office and hold “meaningful consultation” with it. But President Zardari , in his respond to Chaudhry Nisar’s letter, turned down his questions and says Faish Bokhari’s appointment was in accordance with the law.
