Electricity load-shedding disrupts life in Pakistan

After an increase of the heat wave of weather, regular unannounced continuous load-shedding and electricity outage has also become a habit across the country likewise. The time period of load shedding ranges from 12 to 14 hours daily in non-urban areas and 16 to 18 hours in city areas.


Electricity short fall hit to 3200 Megawatts (MW). A 6-hours and at a few areas 12-hours load-shedding in Lahore is making people’s lives difficult. Protests continued in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Naushahro Feroz, Mehrab Pur, Shikarpur, Daharki, Khairpur, Kashmore and different cities of the country against the worse ever load shedding. The citizens have shown their utmost anger over load shedding.

Several Feeders have been closed down for the last Ten days in interior Sindh, as the Minister for water and power Abid Sher Ali directed to turn off. Unlike routine 7 to 8 hours load-shedding in cities while 18 hours load shedding in non-urban areas causing serious water shortage, which has ruined the agriculture severely.
