Ex- president General Parvez Musharraf, who faces a non-bailable arrest warrant in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, says he will not take any responsibility for the killing of Benazir Bhutto. Ex- president is wanted by the law as he looks to go back to his homeland early the coming year. “I will go to prison if I have to… but won’t take any responsibility for Benazir’s murder,” Musharraf mentioned in an interview.
Benazir Bhutto was murdered by a suicide attacker right after addressing an election move in Rawalpindi on December 27, 2007. She was attacked weeks after she came back to Pakistan after spending a few years in self-exile. Musharraf says Benazir was herself to find fault with for her death. “Had she been inside the car, there were 5 other persons inside the car. They’re all very safe and sound, not even a small damage. So was not that a success of safety?” he says.
Musharraf says that he’d informed Benazir about the risk to her life. “She did not listen to me. He also says that the Pakistan govt has “no foundation at all” in the case against him. “I understand that as far the legal issues of the case are concerned, it doesn’t stand on any strong legs at all,” he says.
