Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has asked the America to remove the mistrust between Islamabad and Washington by stopping the drone attacks and establishing relationship on basic principle of good respect.
Talking to newly-appointed US Ambassador to Pakistan, Cameron Munter, at his Raiwind home on Saturday, Nawaz said that the PML-N would carry on its attempts for durable democracy in the state. He said that the two states had failed to build durable ties that could stand up to the difficulties that emerged over time. He asked the Obama administration to attach higher priority to trade and encourage investment in Pakistani sectors, including power, energy, agriculture and education.
During the exchange of views on regional scenario, it was emphasised that the United States as a friend of both Pakistan and India should take keen interest in promoting peace and stability in South Asia. Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and other senior leaders also attended the meeting.
