MQM workers in Karachi continued for 2nd consecutive day a demonstration sit-in against arrestment of their party head, Altaf Hussain. MQM command says the demonstration would continue “until release of Altaf Hussain.”
The demonstration started on Tuesday night at Numaish Chowrangi intersection a couple of hours after TV channels broadcast news about ‘arrest’ of Altaf Hussain. The news sparked gunfire and arson assaults in different places of Karachi where more than a number of autos were torched. The MQM leader, who has been living in London in self-exile for over 2 decades, was charged by British authorities in money laundering case after months of inquiry.
The Scotland Yard more said that Altaf Hussain will remain in the custody even while he is in the hospital. MQM mentioned Doctors will examine the condition whether he is been able to give statement to the police after blood sugar test.
