Altaf Hussain lashes out at talks of ‘1992-style’ operation in Karachi

MQM leader Altaf Hussain, said on yesterday that certain state forces had been going to start another operation against the MQM just like the one done in 1992 by leveling concocted claims in order to stop the MQM from battling against the self-indulgent system in Pakistan.

Altaf Hussain says that the MQM was being made a scapegoat, but the elements who had been conspiring to vanquish the MQM should realize that the MQM wasn’t confined to Karachi alone now.Talking with the office-bearers and workers of the Lahore and Rawalpindi Areas of the MQM by telephone, Hussain mentioned that the MQM had its presence in Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“Those who’re intending to eliminate the MQM should know that people countrywide, including Punjab, will rise in protest if the MQM is subjected to any repressive action again,” he said. Altaf Hussain mentioned that the MQM was the only political party in Pakistan that had its roots in the poor and middle groups, and it was making real attempts to break the status quo and abolish the age-old feudal system in Pakistan.
