They might have lost their spot in the national side, but when it comes to the IPL, Team India’s out of favor batsmen Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag are anything but losers.
The discarded veterans have maintained to keep their base price in the highest bracket of Rs.2 crore for the next auctions of IPL 7. There are 46 capped Indian players in the list of 233 overseas cricketers who have enrolled for the auction. The base price for giving players (in INR) are 50 lakh, 1 crore, 1.5 crore and 2 crore respectively.
New Zealand’s Corey Anderson has kept his base price at a reasonable Rs.1 crore. It is highly expected that Anderson’s price will hit the roof-top after his fastest hundred in ODIs and his fantastic all-round performance against India in the ongoing ODI series.
While Aussie skipper Michael Clarke has pulled out of the IPL 7 auction, Ashes Hero Mitchell Johnson’s base price is Rs.2 crore.
