Indian bookies wanted to trick Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal 2 years ago during a series against England organized in UAE. The middle order batsman received suspicious phone calls from an unidentified number, but the batsman instantly told ICC anti corruption unit.
As per sources, Umar Akmal received call after call from different Indian numbers. The suspect caller offered money to Umar Akmal and wanted him to play badly. But the middle order batsman did not fall for the bribe and instantly told ICC anti-corruption and security unit according to the established procedure.
ICC authorities liked Umar Akmal for his action and started an investigation on the phone numbers provided by the young batsman.
