Sri Lanka refuse Indian Board request on IPL players

In what could tension the associations between the Sri Lanka Cricket and BCCI, the SL authorities and SLC have made a decision to stick to their final decision of calling back national player, taking part in the IPL, by May 5. Early this particular month they’d instructed the cricketers to go back to Sri Lanka to ready for the forthcoming England visit.

Though no gathering took place between the Indian Cricket Board and Sri Lankan Board but Indian authorities did talk to their SL counterparts on the issue and asked for them to let their cricketers participate in the T20 sporting event at least till May 15. But SL Sports Minister and SLC have made a decision to overlook the Indian application.

A SLC source mentioned here on Wednesday that Aluthgamage, SLC and the national selection panel had lengthy deliberations last night on the issue. Accordingly several 11 Sri Lankans such as cricketers Sangakkara, Jayawardena and the recently hired Sri Lankan skipper Dilshan would have to follow by the Sri Lankan final decision.

Sri Lanka summoned almost all IPL cricketers to come back in order to get ready for the visit of England which begins on May 10. Ex- skipper Sangakkara says the cricketers will have to follow by the SLC final decision but indicated hope that 2 boards would fix the matter.
