Shahid Afridi unhappy with ODI ranking system

Current 5 ODIs cricket series between Pakistan and West indies  Pakistan cricket team lead the 5 match sequence 2-0 and success in Bridgetown will mean Pakistan team remain undefeated in the previous 5 sequence amongst the 2 teams. But the reality that it doesn’t receive Pakistan one single ranking point in the ICC ODI Tournament has upset skipper Shahid Afridi whose goal is to increase the team’s position.

Pakistan, presently 6th, will remain put even if they white wash the sequence and Afridi asked the method that offers minor reward versus lower rated competitors. However, even a 4-1 or 3-2 victory versus the 9th positioned West Indies indicates a decrease in points for Pakistan since they’re likely to defeat the hosts.

“I can’t fully understand this method,” Afridi said to media. “There must be several benefit for the visiting teams as successful a sequence is never simple for them no issue who they’re performing against.”Shahid Afridi mentioned that the method is tough for the lower rated squads.“It’s very hard to succeed under the present rating method. I’ve small idea what it’s based on.”

Afridi isn’t the very first skipper to criticise the ICC Rating System, which also received criticism from ex- Sri Lanka skipper Kumara Sangakkara who called it as ‘unfair’.
