Ex- Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi rushed home after his father, Sahibzada Fazalur Rehman, suffered a heart problem and was moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the Aga Khan Hospital yesterday.
Afridi, who was representing Hampshire in the continuing Friends Life T20 Tournament, headed back instantly after hearing the reports and was likely to arrive in Karachi yesterday.
Shahid Afridi, who also missed the first levels of his county stint because of a clash PCB that suspended his NOCs to play in overseas leagues, is also uncertain to play Hampshire’s remaining games. The ex- skipper has so far played 7 games for Hants and was planned to come back on July 16.
Afridi’s dad is fighting a prolonged sickness and also undergo a surgery in the America in May.
