Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has topped the latest ICC bowlers’ rankings in ODIs, level along with West Indies spinner Sunil Narine, after jumping 4 spots. Ravindra Jadeja has been the 1st Indian bowler to top the rankings since Anil Kumble, who topped the table with 1996. Jadeja took 5 wickets from 5 matches in the ODI series against Zimbabwe and is the leading wicket-taker this year along with 38 wickets from 22 games at 18.86.
Sri Lanka batsman Kumar Sangakkara, who’s placed 3rd after Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers, equalled his career-high ranking in the batting list. Sangakkara, the top run-scorer in the ODI series against South Africa with 372 runs at an average of 93, was last ranked 3rd in 2005. Tillakaratne Dilshan received 2 spots and is now on the 6th spot. He scored 273 runs in the series and was 2nd in the list of major run-scorers.
Meanwhile, India strong their position at the top of the ODI rankings after their 5-0 win even though it received them only one rating point. Australia is ranked 2nd, 9 rating points behind India. Sri Lanka and South Africa changed places and Sri Lanka are now ranked 4th, 6 rating points ahead of South Africa.
The latest rankings were unveiled after India’s 5-0 series win against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka’s 4-1 series win against South Africa at home.
