Ex- Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik’s performances in the forthcoming series in the UAE against Sri Lanka will be monitored by PCB after an below-par show in Zimbabwe. It has been learnt that Shoaib Malik was drafted into the side, after the integrity panel removed him of his alleged connections with bookies, because of his experience.
Shoaib played 3 ODIs and 2 T20s, but unsuccessful to make major share with bat or ball. However, Shoaib Malik was selected over Umar Akmal for the Test series against Sri Lanka, but his show in Zimbabwe has forced the PCB to postpone giving him a central contract.“ Shoaib Malik is in the team because the selection board desires to give him a ideal opportunity,” a leading PCB official was mentioned as indicating.His overall performance in Zimbabwe was below par and he has significantly to show. Folks claim that he may come back as skipper soon, but everything is based on his ability, presented that he’s not an good option in team,” the official added.
The official mentioned towards the hard contest in the side, and emphasised that the ex- skipper would’ve to do rapidly in order to keep his position in the side.
