PCB suspends central contracts of Amir, Asif, Butt

The Pakistan Cricket Board has terminated the central contracts of ex – captain Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif. PCB legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi told that it was a lawful requirement as “they are not able to perform services for Pakistan due to suspensions.” The ICC terminated the trio on Sept. 2 after a British tabloid accused them of accepting money for bowling predetermined no-balls in a test against England at Lord’s.

The ICC’s code of conduct commission declined appeals by Butt and Amir against their suspensions last Sunday, with the next phase being a hearing by the anti-corruption tribunal into details of the fixing case.
