Misbah-ul-Haq was retained as Pakistan skipper for upcoming Test series against South Africa despite poor results culminating in a first loss to Zimbabwe in Fifteen years. Misbah-ul-Haq’s position was announced by the PCB on Thursday, but the full Test team will be announced later.
The PCB also said Umar Amin will captain Pakistan A in a three-day warm-up match against South Africa. A training camp for Pakistan probables will be held in Lahore upcoming week from Monday, and 28 cricketers will take part.
Pakistan has won only 1 of 5 Tests this year, and that against Zimbabwe this month. Zimbabwe, however, came back to win the 2nd Test to square that series 14 days ago, its 1st win over a major Test side in 12 years.
South Africa whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 in a Test series at home in February. They’ll meet again in 2 Tests in Abu Dhabi from October 14-18, and Dubai the following week.
