The PCB has offered the Sri Lanka cricket board a chance to play a day-night Test on their tour of the UAE in the winter. 2 of 3 Tests on the tour are slated in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and these could be possible places to host the day-night Test.
The ICC recently approved the concept of day-night Test matches but left it to member boards to settle on the hours of play and the color of the ball to be used. No board so far has considered playing day-night Tests, but the PCB has shown interest in testing out the format. The PCB has organized a day-night first-class matches and a couple of MCC fixtures in Abu Dhabi have also been played under lights.
Pakistan will organize Sri Lanka in the UAE between December 2013 and January 2014 for a bilateral series that includes 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and 2 Twenty20s. The series, the 2nd bilateral contest between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the UAE, will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The initial Test has been slated for December 31 in Dubai, while Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will host the 2nd and 3rd Tests, from January 8 and January 16.
