The PCB has hired ex- Test captain/wicket-keeper Rashid Latif as chief selector for a long period, starting from April 1. The PCB unexpectedly for the very first time, has also given him the job of providing training and conducting lectures on anti-corruption issues.
The spot was left vacant after the appointment of yet another ex- skipper, Aamir Sohail, was terminated by PCB chairman Najam Sethi earlier this month. Aamir had been hired chief selector and director of game development by Zaka Ashraf, who was replaced as PCB chairman on February 10.
A media release issued by the PCB in this regard on yesterday said, “The PCB announces induction of Rashid Latif into PCB’s team as chief selector“. Rashid Latif, presently serving in the Port Qasim Authority, met along with PCB chairman, Mr Najam Sethi yesterday (Wednesday) and decided to accept the offer to become the chief selector with effect from April 1, 2014.
