Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt most likely will declare Shahid Afridi as the captain of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming World Cup 2011.
Chairman PCB has decided to now stay with Shahid Afridi as skipper however there is still a divided feeling about the fact that several consider Misbah-ul Haq to be a better choice.
” Chairman PCB has come to the conclusion after discussing the team captaincy issue with the cricket management and others that it would be unwise to shift the cskipperaptain at such a place and since Shahid Afridi has been the ODI skipper since late 09,” a source mentioned.
He said PCB would almost certainly close the team captaincy debate by asserting the skipper in next one day.
There was a lot of debate in the cricketing sectors after the board declared the WC side of 15 cricketers the previous month but didn’t mention the captain of the national team.
