PCB yesterday confirmed a short tour of South Africa later this month, playing 3 ODIs and 2 T20 matches. PCB spokesperson on Tuesday said that the series was set up after the reduced tour of India to South Africa. Pakistan squad is expected to reach in South Africa on Nov. 18 and open the tour with the T20 matches, in Johannesburg on Nov. 20 and in Cape Town on November 22.
The ODI matches will be played in Cape Town on (November 24), Port Elizabeth (November 27) and Centurion (November 30). Both the teams are presently playing a five-match ODI series in the UAE, with the 3rd game in Abu Dhabi today (Wednesday). The series is tied at 1-1 after South Africa won the initial game in Sharjah by one run while Pakistan won the 2nd game by 66 runs in Dubai. The preceding two-Test series was drawn 1-1.
Cricket South Africa chief executive Haroon Lorgat said the forthcoming tour was great news for the Proteas and their fans. He said the tour would give the Africans more cricket after India reduced their tour from 3 Tests and 7 ODIs to 2 Tests and 3 ODI.
