Pakistani cricketers are likely to receive attractive pay hikes in their fresh central contracts, a PCB official said. The official, who refused to be named, told PTI that under the fresh payment method, made by the financial experts of the board, the players who receive category A central contracts will be paid a per month wage of Rs 500,000 while those in B category will receive close to Rs 375,000.
The salaries are paid besides the match and tour charges given to cricketers. “But while the board will raise the monthly salaries in all categories of the contracts some clauses relating to bonus payments are going to be abolished from the contracts,” the official said. The PCB official said at the moment players in the A category get Rs 360,000, those in category B are paid Rs 250,000 and the ones in category C are given close to Rs 144,000.
As per sources, the PCB has delayed announcing the central contracted players this year due to the uncertainty in the board command and also due to the proposed modifications in the payments system.
