Ex- PCB Interim Committee chief Najam Sethi intensifies efforts to regain the hot seat again as he met Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf at his house in Lahore on Sunday evening. Very liable sources on condition of privacy have confirmed the meeting happened in this regard.
The sources confirmed that Najam Sethi requested the Prime Minister to restore him as Interim Committee chief only for a few moments as this issue was a matter of prestige for him and his whole journalistic profession was at stake. The sources said PM turned down to give any guarantees to Najam Sethi and said he’d take up the issue in the cabinet meeting set to be held in Capital today.But sources more said, it’s highly unlikely PM would at this point, even think about head on collision with the judiciary, as some of the selections had already backfired and he does not desire for more aggravate the already intense scenario.
The sources more disclosed that PCB chairmanship is more vital than holding the office of CM and above all five-year TV rights of the Pakistan Cricket team would be on offer in the coming months, which values around Rs 170 million, including some high-profile events like Asia Cup and World Cup T20 in Bangladesh as well as other vital events are on offer.
