Pakistan manager Moin Khan has mentioned his desire to become coach of the national team after current coach Dave Whatmore shown that he will not be seeking an agreement extension.
Moin Khan has been very outspoken about the fact that the team doesn’t need an overseas coach and a local guy will be more beneficial in inspiring the side. “I’ve always favoured a local coach. I said this even when I was not associated with the team as manager. Players can have a good understanding with a local coach and this can be useful in bringing improvement. We should utilise services of our former cricketers for the task. I am available to serve my country in any capacity,” Moin Khan said.
However, the T20 skipper Mohammad Hafeez thinks that it doesn’t issue whether the PCB appoints a local or overseas coach for the national team. As per Mohammad Hafeez, it’s ultimately about how the players utilize the coaching. “It does not make a difference whether we have a foreign or local coach this is a decision to be taken by the board,” Mohammad Hafeez said.
