Pakistani pacer Umar Gul has said that he’s trying to fit and back to bowling before the series against South Africa in UAE in October. Umar Gul is presently at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, undergoing rehabilitation right after a knee operation, and his return to the upcoming Zimbabwe tour is still unlikely.
A report said that Umar Gul sustained the knee problem in March during the 2nd ODI against South Africa at Centurion and has been sidelined since. Although he’s trying to fit in time for the Zimbabwe tour, Umar Gul, however, said that his key focus on the South Africa series, which will be organized by Pakistan in the UAE , adding that he’s at present getting back his strength with gym work and will start bowling with a run-up within a couple of days.
However,Umar Gul, who’s limited himself to the gym and bowling from a spot along with minor running, further said that he doesn’t want to press for a quick return and take risks, adding that he would take his time to recover completely.
