The federal Govt on Friday withdrew application against the restoration of PCB chief Zaka Ashraf. Last week, the federal govt had challenged the verdict of the Islamabad High Court in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
On January 15, a two-member IHC bench heard an appeal and restored Zaka Ashraf as PCB chairman by overruling the same court’s earlier judgement under which he was prohibited from continuing as chairman PCB.
Zaka Ashraf, who was hired by ex- president Asif Ali Zardari on 27 October 2011, was restored to his post after several months. In June 2013, the IHC stopped him from working as PCB chairman on a petition challenging his election as ‘nontransparent’.
