Former PCB chief Zaka Ashraf lashes out at Najam Sethi

Former PCB head Zaka Ashraf has lashed out at current head Najam Sethi, blaming him for the sport`s fast deterioration in the last 8 weeks. In a statement, Zaka Ashraf claimed the situation had worse after his departure from the board and said he felt discord, disunity and fear in the national side now. He also attacked the PCB under Najam Sethi for inducting “tainted” players in different roles in the PCB.

PM Nawaz Sharif in February had removed Zaka Ashraf as head of the PCB and hired Najam Sethi in his place to run the affairs of the PCB. Najam Sethi now heads a managing board to run PCB affairs and on Monday hired ex- skipper, Moin Khan as chief selector and manager.

“I left Pakistan cricket in good standing. But it has gone down. When I was the chairman, Pakistan made a historic clean-sweep against world number one England in Tests,” Zaka Ashraf said.

Zaka Ashraf said in his time the team was combined but now things had changed and there was discord within the team.
