Cricketer Danish Kaneria on Saturday registered a court application against PCB for not permitting him to resume his career despite being removed in a spot-fixing claim. Kaneria hasn’t been permitted to play for Pakistan because an integrity panel of the PCB is not happy by the approval from Essex, his county side in England.
Danish Kaneria and Mervyn Westfield were detained a year ago on allegations of spot-fixing during a Pro40 match against Durham. Kaneria was later discharged without being accused but Westfield faces offender actions.Kaneria featured in Pakistan’s Test series against England a year ago but has not been chosen since on the grounds of not being approved by the PCB committee.
Danish Kaneria says he submitted the case as a last option.“I have provided every report to the PCB but they’re not eradicating me. I’ve fully committed no offense and that’s why Essex cops and my county have approved me in that spot-fixing issue,” Danish Kaneria told AFP. “My top priority is to play for Pakistan but I don’t understand for what offense I’m being penalized by the PCB. Every occasion they declare a squad and every occasion they provide contracts to cricketers they express Danish Kaneria isn’t cleaned,” he explained.
