Ousted PCB chief Najam Sethi has said that he will approach the Pakistan Supreme Court to challenge the Islamabad High Court’s verdict of reinstating Zaka Ashraf as PCB chairman. He said that all the good methods taken to professionalize and invigorate cricket in Pakistan and clean up the PCB wouldn’t be allowed to go in vain.
It may be recalled that on May 17, Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi had set aside the Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) issued by the Nawaz Sharif-led Govt which brought Najam Sethi in as PCB as leader and also reversed the termination of 38 PCB workers carried out by the Sethi regime.
Najam Sethi reiterated his position of fixing and cleaning up the board’s system and pointed out at doing elections in this regard. The numerous modifications in PCB’s set up has raised issues in the ICC, which finds it tough to finalise important matters with frequent changes in PCB management.
