The BCCI Working Committee will meet here today (Friday) to shortlist 2 possible countries which will be kept as substitute locations for the 7th edition of the IPL which is coinciding with the general elections.
While South Africa is the front-runner having had the experience of hosting the 2nd season of IPL, UAE is also among the countries being regarded as for the event to be organized between April 9 and June 3 window. The final choice of an alternative place will be taken only after the Govt announces the dates of the general elections as the BCCI is hard-pressed to organize it in India due to force from the advertisers.
At the same time, several of the other factors that are on the plan include confirming the minutes of the last working committee and also passing the finance board reports and suggestions. As per official, a solid decision can’t be taken immediately as BCCI is still optimistic of organizing the bulk of the matches in India according to the desires of all the franchises.
