Banned fast bowler Muhammad Amir will return Pakistan on Sunday after spending 3 months prison in the young offenders institute in Weymouth, report said on yesterday.
Amir served 3 month sentence for spot-fixing after the 19 yr old Amir was found responsible in the scandal that shook the cricketing world in May 2010.
Amir, Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif had taken bribes from bookie Mazhar Majeed. Undercover reporter Mazhar Mahmood from now defunct Uk publication News Of The World secretly videotaped Majeed during transaction that played a vital part in securing the conviction.
Amir was the initial and the only of the 3 cricketers who changed his defence to a responsible plea and was sentenced for only 6 months.
