Australian players short-changed in IPL

Australian cricketer’s part of the Pune Warriors team in the IPL has received only 65 % of the amount owed by the now defunct franchise. Pacer Kane Richardson, including Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, and All-rounder Mitchell Marsh owed 2013 payments from Pune Warriors before IPL auction due date.

Richardson, 22, was secured by the Warriors for 700,000 dollars in the 2013 auction, but has just received 65 % of the amount. Cricket Australia maintains it’s assisting Australian players and the BCCI to settle the issue. CA spokesperson said that all players will be paid what is owed to them once these issues are settled, The Daily telegraph reports.

Kochi and Pune were included in the IPL in 2011 and have later folded. Pune backer Sahara turned down to give a bank guarantee necessary for inclusion in the 2014 IPL and is responsible for player payments.
