Pakistan all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq could face disciplinary action from the PCB after he reportedly misled the national selection board into trusting that he was not fit to bowl.
A source near to the selection board claimed that Abdul Razzaq, who’s playing for Duronto Rajshahi in the BPL, was given a NOC by the PCB to take part in the league after he informed the selectors he’d be unable to bowl if chosen for Pakistan team.
Abdul Razzaq was under consideration for the ODI series against England. But he told the selectors that because of a shoulder problem he could not bowl. He said he should be given a NOC for the BPL where he’d just perform as a batsman,” the source mentioned. The selectors did not consider him because All-rounder mentioned he wasn’t fit to bowl,” the source reported. But now Abdul Razzaq is bowling for Rajashahi team in the BPL. He isn’t only batting but also bowling consistently for them which is unexpected, the source claimed.
Chief selector, M Illyas, when approached, proved that Abdul Razzaq had told him he’d be unable to bowl in the BPL. Abdul Razzaq will be asked to give a clarification over how he said he was not fit to bowl,” a source mentioned.
