Afridi wants to represent Pakistan in World Cup 2013

Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has said that it is high time for the team to start considering the 2015 ICC World Cup and has called for right planning to prepare for the challenge. As per the Express Tribune, for Pakistan, it’ll be a special occasion, as they will return to the destination where the team clinched their first world title in 1992.


The popular cricketer said that a preliminary team comprising a total of 22 players must be picked at this point and then the authorities must stick with these cricketers and utilize them on tasks. The all-rounder advised that cricketers must be picked according to their expertise and if a player wasn’t a specialist in limited overs and is effective in Test cricket, he must not be selected in ODIs and T20s.

Shahid Afridi, the former skipper enjoyed another successful return by playing an important part in Pakistan`s ODIs and T20 series victory over the West Indies in the recently finished tour of the Caribbean, the report said.
