Today’s Three Big Releases


Madras Café, the John Abraham’s starrer and production, is today’s big offering from Bollywood. Film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and features Nargis Fakhri and Rashi Khanna.

Madras Café deals with the Sri Lankan Civil war which was ended in 2009. John plays a RAW agent in it. The Tamil version of the film is uncertain as certain pro-tamil groups have objected to the portrayal of LTTE in the film.

The director Shoojit Sircar has insisted the film portrays RAW agents in a realistic manner and they won’t be jumping off bike of doing high-octane stunts. He previously dealt with the subject of insurgency in the film Yahaan (2005). The Rockstar actress Nargis Fakhri makes her second screen appearance in Madras Café in which she will be seen playing a journalist.

The second big movie which is set to release today is JOBS which is a biopic of late Apple chief Steve Jobs. The film is starring Ashton Kuthcer. Parts of the film, depicting Steve Jobs’ famous visit to India in the ’70s, have been shot in Vrindavan and New Delhi.

The exotic star Priyanka Chopra makes her Disney debut in an animated film Planes. She lent her voice on a character named Ishani. The film alos features the voice of Desperate Housewives actress Teri Hatcher.

Another flick scheduled to release today is Ooops a Desi. It’s an action thriller film directed by Jenner Jose. It stars Pragathi Yadhati, Adnan Khalid, Gideon Samson and Bauli Shah.
