Tabu also acted lead in Gulzar’s daughter’s directorial debut Filhaal. Now the actress is back in Meghna’s new directorial titled Talwar.

Gulzar’s reticent daughter Meghna Gulzar started filming for her 3rd feature movie on Tuesday morning with minimum fanfare. The film has been titled Talwar and is reported to be based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case.
Seemingly, Meghna’s father has given the film its title; just like he has entitled Megha’s 2 previous movies Filhaal and Just Married.
A source close to the family said; “It’s a family tradition. Meghna wants Gulzar Saab to select her films’ title. Gulzar’s Saab has zeroed in Talwar as at the title of his daughter’s third film.”
The reclusive daughter of the poetic guru desires to keep the project under wraps due to the sensitive nature of the subject. However, Irrfan Khan has confirmed his existence in Meghna’s movie.
The highly talented Shefali Shah who was expected to perform an important role in Talwar had to opt out due to another female filmmaker.
“Meghna was very keen to have Shefali Shah play an important role. But Shefali’s dates in June and July were taken up by Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do. She had no choice but to opt out,” a source said.
