Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was on parole and was expected to return to Yerawada jail on January 21, has granted the extension on parole by the government.
The state government has granted a parole supposed of 30 days to Mr. Dutt. The actor, who is currently on a month’s leave from prison, was expected to return to jail on January 21.
The 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case convict had sought extension citing his wife Maanyata’s health. Prior to this, Sanjay Dutt was released twice in 2013 after he surrendered before the TADA court. He was earlier released on furlough in October and then in December last year on parole to see his wife.
The actor is serving his jail terms in the 1993 bomb blast case. He was granted parole last month by the Pune police as he appealed to meet his wife who was diagnosed with tumour in liver, reportedly.
