Bollywood film ‘Mausam’, which hit the screens yesterday on Sept. 23 after braving through all the odds and controversies, has surprisingly fared well at the box office on its opening day. A 9 crore collection on the releasing day is not at all a poor start for the love story that has been made on a financial budget of 35 crore.
Mausam has been launched across 1900 screens, and as per reports, the movie has opened to packed houses. Mausam’, that’s been developing very much hype and hullabaloo ever since it went on floors, has apparently gained mixed reply after its launch today. However, according to trade gurus, the movie is doing pretty much better than Akshay Kumar’s ‘Speedy Singhs’, which also launched on the same day.
Checking the overall performance of ‘Mausam’ and ‘Speedy Singhs’, Industry Expert Taran Adarsh informed PTI, “The reviews of `Mausam‘ are mixed. It will be exciting to see how the movie performs. `Mausam’ has yet another week to gain….While `Speedy Singh’ launched to weak reaction.”
Though the movie was first planned to hit the cinemas on Sep. 16, problems with IAF postponed its launch to Sept. 23.
