Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is known for his roles in films like Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur and Talaash, said that he would do Hollywood movies if the role offered is not clichéd and is substantial in length.
The actor, who believes in method acting, said here on Thursday; “I would like to do a bigger role in Hollywood films…I hope I don’t get to play bit parts. Other actors who do Hollywood movies jump at the opportunity, but their roles turn out to be small. I would like roles which are not cliched,”
“I select films based on the length…not on the depth of the character because I believe I can bring out the depth in any character,” Nawaz told mediapersons here during promotion of his upcoming films Mountain Man and Anwar Ka Ajab Qissa.
Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s film Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa is scheduled to release after the festive season. Film will see Nawaz portraying a small time detective. He will play opposite Ananya Chatterjee, a National Award winner.
The movie has made it to the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival that begun Wednesday and will run till October 20.
“Film festivals are a great way to see other kinds of cinema. I like watching films from across the world, particularly Korean,” said Nawaz.
The actor’s last movie Lunchbox bagged the Critics Week Viewer’s Choice Award At the Cannes Film Festival this year.
